You can also visit the eco-village and oldest mosques of Ghana Larabanga that lies close by.

Elmina used to bear glittering gold mines that got Ghana its erstwhile title of ‘Gold Coast’. Since it was a British colony, the town still possess plenty of forts and castles, ornate in British architecture namely Elmina Castle, Fort St. Jago and a little-known Portuguese Church.
