The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (estd: 1964) in Nashville is one of the world’s largest museums and research centres dedicated to American Country Music. Visitors would find here nearly 200000 sound recordings, almost 500000 photographs, over 30000 audiovisuals and several musical instruments and clothing used by famous musicians. Central to its reputation is a 1960 ‘Solid Gold’ Cadillac Limousine of Elvis Presley.
The Parthenon
The Parthenon is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens and is partly the reason of Nashville being called the ‘Athens of South.’ Though this late 19th century architectural marvel replicates the original dimensions of Greek Parthenon to within a quarter of an inch but is made of concrete as against marble. It is now an art museum that is best known for a replica of goddess Athena’s statue and more than sixty 19th and 20th century paintings.
